How Reston Healing Center got started
Reston Healing Center was led for years by Dr. Richard “Rick” Wirtanen and his wife, Monica. Dr. Jason R. Brown joined the practice in 2017 and worked alongside Dr. Rick. When Dr. Rick retired in 2020, Dr. Jason became the owner and operator.
Dr. Jason’s own path into chiropractic started with an injury. Growing up on a farm in Iowa, he badly hurt his ankle in a high school football game and thought his season was over. A chiropractor who specialized in sports injuries got him back on the field, and he finished the year as the starting running back. He has wanted to give people that same comeback ever since.
Today the practice is a team: Dr. Jason, our front desk staff and our massage therapists, working together in one office at 11700 Bowman Green Dr.
Meet Dr. Jason R. Brown, D.C.
Dr. Jason R. Brown, B.S., D.C., owner and chiropractor
- Doctor of Chiropractic, Palmer College of Chiropractic, Davenport, Iowa
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, University of Iowa
- Practicing in Northern Virginia for more than 15 years; at Reston Healing Center since 2017
- Trained in Diversified, Gonstead, Thompson, Impulse instrument adjusting, extremity adjusting, kinesio taping, trigger point therapy, prenatal care and Chiropractic Biophysics
Dr. Jason is a sports chiropractor who treats a lot of shoulders, knees, feet and ankles as well as the spine. He works with a lot of kids, athletes and families, and has treated patients from newborns to 102 years old. While at Palmer, he volunteered at a free clinic in India. He wants to be the most conservative person you see: the goal is to keep you away from surgery, and if he can’t help you, he’ll get you to someone who can.
